They were also easy to work with, completed the job on time and budget. I strongly recommend Macaw. Unfortunately for our marketplace Macaw's skill and honesty is a HUGE differentiator from too many other builders in the Charlotte market. Benefit to Macaw. My general contractor did a poor job with the James Hardie siding - and other things. I contacted Macaw to get an estimate on fixing what I thought would be cosmetic issues with some soffits, eaves and trim and utility penetrations. Brenda came out to assess the situation and quickly determined the situation to be much worse than those few issues. The builder had improperly applied the siding without drainage slots throughout, assuring the siding would rot the house in a short number of years. The James Hardy warranty was also voided. She suggested it probably all needed replacement! I was skeptical and hired a forensic engineer to look at it. He confirmed the improper installation, suggesting that maybe the house could be opened up by removing caulking to ventilate the house. Unfortunately, there was so much poor workmanship, improper flashing and key spots with no flashing that it all needed to be removed. While Macaw's pricing is reasonable, there is nothing so inexpensive as doing something right the first time. Choose Macaw.
